As a resident of San Francisco, I am very tired of the "scandal" side of the story. It has been very cool to have Barry gunning for the record these past few years. With the record in sight, city hall and other city buildings were illuminated with orange lights and banners to celebrate. We knew the exact moment when Barry broke the record, due to the instant fireworks and cheers from half the city. Barry was honored the next day in a large ceremony with the mayor, Willie Mays (an Alabama native), and a few thousand of the general population. It was a great achievement with or without the juice. What really bothered me about the scandal was the attention it received from Congress. Why was Congress, the elected leadership of the free world, debating baseball during a war?
